For the past fourteen years, Judge Nancy Gertner donned a long black robe while presiding over cases for the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. But in the 1970s, when she was one of few women in a stubbornly male profession, she sported bright red suits that reflected her fearless choice of cases and her daring litigation tactics. Defending clients in some of the most prominent criminal and civil rights cases of the time, Gertner drove home the point that women lawyers belonged in our courtrooms.
Please join us on February 23rd at 8:00 p.m. in the Hunter Atrium for a discussion with Judge Gertner about the professional challenges that she faced throughout her groundbreaking career, and the clients who made it worth the effort.
CLE credit: 2.0 CLE credits comprised of 1 regular and 1 ethics hour will be offered for this program pending approval from the State Bar of Georgia for a fee of $10.00 payable by cash or check at the door.
