The Bands:
ABYSMAL DAWN and FOG OF WAR. (Video here: http://youtu.be/iHmWjiHGyL4).
ABYSMAL DAWN has delivered their finest hour in the form of the monolithic Leveling the Plane of Existence. A tour-de-force of modern death metal mastery, Leveling... is a crushing, front-to-back display of brutality, speed, and virtuosity. Massive, memorable riffs, impossibly deep vocal bellows, and relentless percussion collides on tracks such as the epic “In Service of Time”, “Rapture Renowned”, "My Own Saviour", and "Perpetual Dormancy". Leveling... proves beyond a doubt that ABYSMAL DAWN is one of the best new American metal bands. ABYSMAL DAWN’s frontman, Charles Elliott, is one of the vocalists selected to perform on the ‘Death To All Tour 2012’. You can catch him on June 22, 2012 at the Regency Ballroom with Gene Hoglan, Sean Reinert, Steve DiGiorgio, Scott Clendenin, Paul Masvidal, Shannon Hamm and Bobby Koelble plus a host of several special guest in honor of Chuck Schuldiner.

FOG OF WAR is a local Bay Area five piece band with three lead guitarists. Taking full advantage of the third guitar, the band's new material calls to mind the epic harmonies and lyrical content of legendary bands like Blind Guardian and Helloween, combined with the raw energy and social/political awareness of hardcore punk bands like DRI and Suicidal Tendencies. Set to release their second full length album "Here Lies Humanity" this summer, FOG OF WAR is primed to invade the ears and minds of metal heads worldwide.

IMPALED and AUTOPSY. (Video here: http://youtu.be/y_kh-Je7LGo)
IMPALED is a local Bay Area favorite out of Oakland, CA. They have been re-recording their first album, now titled, "The Dead Still Dead Remain". The recording remains faithful to the original material but sounds louder and meaner.

Back by popular demand, AUTOPSY! Their “Born Undead” DVD is complete and scheduled to be released August 28th. They have also begun working on material for the next full length to be recorded this Fall. It will contain all new material and the band vows to deliver it’s most heavy, horrific and crushing album to date.

ABSU and WITCHAVEN. (Video here: http://youtu.be/40c7X5T140w)
ABSU is a metal band from Plano, Texas in the United States. Their demos and first album leaned towards death metal, but evolved more towards a mix of black metal and thrash metal by their second album and beyond. They also incorporate various elements of Celtic, folk, jazz fusion, progressive rock and psychedelia into their overall sound but without compromising their trademark speed and ferocity. Lyrical themes vary from myths and legends, magic, weaponry, sorcery, alchemy, astrology, cosmology and beyond.

Back by popular demand, WITCHAVEN! This Los Angeles thrash metal band combines black metal and crust punk influences. WITCHAVEN recently released their 7” Vinyl EP, “ Sacrificial Burnt Offering” and will be embarking on a west coast tour in July with Speedwolf, a speed metal band from Denver Colorado.

Dave Lombardo's band, PHILM and SEVERED FIFTH. (Video here: http://youtu.be/0naO3CWB58M - includes a message from Dave Lombardo)
PHILM, the LA trio featuring the star power of Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo, War’s Pancho Tomaselli and Civil Defiance’s Gerry Nestler. Lombardo explains what fans can expect from the live PHILM experience. "PHILM shifts musically - it can be very intense at times, and then passive and soft, trans-like, then the rhythm shifts and swings as the music changes and molds itself into something people can dance to or bang their head to. I've seen the audience do both at our shows! In Slayer, I focus strictly on the guitar playing. In PHILM, I'm thinking of the power trio. I'm focusing on the bass lines, and the guitars become more of a backdrop or texture of the songs." Tomaselli adds, "Fans can expect a tsunami of sound at every show...that is what we do." PHILM released their debut disc, ‘Harmonic,’ on May 15.

SEVERED FIFTH are an innovative new metal band based in Oakland that are not only delivering a solid burst of metal, but are hell bent on changing the music industry while doing so. Founded by Jono Bacon in 2008, Severed Fifth blends together Bay Area thrash with British metal, all the while infusing their wide range of influences, and delivering a tight, competent, rhythmic attack that has a constant heavy undertone. Severed Fifth is not just another metal band though, but they are changing how the music industry works. Led by founder Jono Bacon’s philosophy, Severed Fifth make all their music freely available under a permissive license, helping to bring their fans closer to the band, and encouraging fans to use Severed Fifth content in their own creative work. Severed Fifth’s vision is a music industry that is fairer for bands and fans.
